Why I Started a YouTube Channel

Hi there!

For any of you I haven't had the pleasure of meeting just yet – I'm Ally, founder & designer behind Cadette Jewelry. Thank you SO MUCH for being here and following along.

Cadette Jewelry has been my baby turned small business that is my most fulfilling endeavour to-date. The mere concept of turning an idea into tangible, wearable art, is still a surreal thing for me to grasp. It makes me teary eyed whenever I see anyone try on a piece I've crafted. And the recent launch of the Sculptura collection has brought excitement levels to an all-time high.

My personal journey with Cadette Jewelry these past five years has been full of eye-opening experiences & realities of running a small business. Being a maker and creating a product from start to finish can be the most gratifying experience. Have you ever met a maker that didn't absolutely head-over-heels LOVE what they do?! I'm so proud to know that I am part of this group of people. But undoubtedly, there are many tough days, lessons and challenges. It's this array of experiences that has helped me discover the most inspiring aspects of the journey. Moreover, how important it is to focus and hold onto these things, as much as one possibly can. One of these game-changers for me is the element of COMMUNITY.

From connecting with fellow makers & creatives, to meeting the most phenomenal women who take a liking to Cadette and end up rocking the line. It is the relationships & support, conversations & exchange of ideas, and ultimately, the overflowing LOVE for the handmade craft, that keeps us all going.

And so, one of the main reasons I began a YouTube channel is to nurture the importance of community when being a maker, as I hope to meet more makers across the globe through this platform, as well as drive more visual awareness around what it means to shop and support small businesses.
